About
Family ballet!
The Theatre Ballet Moscow and Russian contemporary dance choreographers Anastasia Kadruleva and Artem Ignatiev are happy to present a premiere of the family ballet Thumbelina.
The young choreographers are reimagining a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Thumbelina lives in a little girl’s doll house.
Her adventures show the inner world of a child, her worries, dreams and fears. Playing games and living through their fantasies, children explore their inner world and eventually grow up.
The set and costumes are designed by Golden Mask Award nominee Sergey Illarionov. With the help of animation and video art, the characters and the audience will travel through fantasy worlds – Mole’s hole, Frog’s swamp, blooming meadows – and will fly with light-winged swallows. The seasons are changing on the stage.
Choreography: A. Kadruleva, A. Ignatiev
Music: Petr Tchaikovsky, A. Marto
Costume design: Sergey Illarionov
